Managing
Conflict presents how conflict, with all its' pain and confusion,
may be the greatest asset a business can have. It shows how
conflict, within certain boundaries, stimulates organizations to
meet the challenges of relentless change and how astute managers
do not squelch conflict, but keep it constructive by permitting
differences of styles and perspectives to flourish, and how they
respect the conflicting interests of the different groups that make
up the organization. Specific techniques are described that generate
a culture of mutual respect, and principles that will allow mutual
trust to grow.
By
the end of Managing Conflict, you will be able to:
Define success and identify conditions that encourage or threaten
it.
Balance sacrifices among different interest groups in an organization,
earning their trust over time.
Understand the sometimes-bewildering responses of other managers
to questions and proposals, and appreciate their different ways
of seeking solutions
Analyze conflicts facing individuals and organizations, coming to
terms with the challenges of life, and conflicts between goals and
stubborn realities.
While
it is desirable to have taken Teamwork
Plus!, or have read Dr. Ichak Adizes' book "Managing Corporate
Lifecycles", it is not mandatory to have either of these prerequisites.

Meetings
are both more complex and simpler than ost managers realize. Meetings,
vary by purpose, scope and task. Different rules and roles are appropriate
for each kind of meeting. Matching the correct process to the correct
meeting makes it productive. Confusing or blurring these distinctions
leads to endless frustration and wasted energy.
By
the end of Productive Meetings, you will be able to:
Define the purpose, scope and tasks for meetings with greater accuracy;
Define and assign Adizes rules and roles for optimal productivity
in meetings;
Use the Adizes 8-step solution process to identify what kinds of
meetings to use at each problem-solving stage.
