I married a PAEI!?! - but
luckily not all the time.
Well of course it is a full time marriage! But we work
in the company as well as in our family life. And in the
company my wife's ability to be a big P in the company
and I in the family situations.
I am lucky! (she tells me)

Task Role
I agree with how the assessment came out relative to my role. The match
between my job and myself occurs in the requirement for "E" in the job.
These days in training, you have to be very creative and innovative and
I very much enjoy that part of the job. But the strongest component required
is "I" because you have to align many parts of the organization in order
to deliver what the company as a whole wants. While I had an "OK" score
on "I", it was my lowest score. So I have to rely on others on my team
to make sure we are doing the things we need to in order to keep the identified
stakeholders in our programs as aligned as possible with what we are doing.

Style versus Role
It's interesting to see that my style PaEi is the same as my role PaEi.
Perhaps that's why I am in the happiest period of my career. It also however
makes me realize that it is essential that other personality types are
crucial in my small firm.

Re: Style versus Role
John, we say that if role and style match, you have less struggle.
A large mismatch creates stress; role-playing can be difficult.

I used to think that lack of follow through was a real liability, but
now I see that it may be part of a bigger personality picture.

Wrap-Up
Most of us have a little
of each of P, A, E and I. The majority of people are strong in two
of the styles, say PA or PE etc. while some are strong in 3, such
as PAE. There is no goodness or badness associated with any of these
mixes:
a) Since no one can have all four, at least two people are required
to balance any decision.
b) A certain predictability of human behaviour is now possible
in terms of decision-making.
Understanding PAEI opens the door to understanding people. It leads
to conflict resolution and systematic problem-solving in a constructive,
positive, long-lasting manner - for any organization. Could that
bring your organization closer to real improvements, to perhaps
being able to share comments like the opening testimonials?
